Will there be a war between men and machines? Will terminator movies be a reality?

The emergence of AI makes us nervous of the possibility of conflict between men and AI/robots
Future wars will be fought by robot soldiers to lessen soldiers fatality and lessen social impact of wars/conflicts.

Shall machines have capability to think for themselves, unite, and fight their masters - the men and women who created them.

Is it a possibility?

Are we on verge of Nuclear War?

More than ever, we are on edge of brinkmanship for  nuclear war to erupt.  Russia Ukraine war  with Putin posturing use of nuclear weapon.   China vs. US.   And many countries bristling with nuclear weapons:   US, China UK, France, Pakistan, India, North Korea

Humanity may have learned its lesson.  But megalomaniac like Putin, Xi  and NK despot can still put us in nuclear war.

But I personally think that unless its Act of God, or natural catastrophe, humanity will march forward and avoid nuclear holocaust.   Nagasaki and Hiroshima are painful reminders.

If ever there will be war, it will be mainly tribal wars.  Skirmishes with neighbors or tribes.

How will the future wars be fought?

The future wars will be fought just like war games  in video games, or the Enders Game

1  No more aircraft carriers.

2.  Mostly to be fought by missiles

3.  Unmanned:   tanks, ships and planes

Less need for many soldiers and officials, less expensive armaments like aircraft carriers and too much investment in bombers, submarines and fighter jets.

Since there is less ego and less human judgment to affect the outcome of war, the less people will be interested in wars and conflicts.  Less war.  Less destruction

There would be no nuclear wars.  There is too much to be lost in a war.  It takes too long to rebuild destruction brought by war.   The last nuclear holocaust taught us, as in Hiroshima  and Nagasaki that it is not be repeated.

Athletic competitions:   the Olympics, athletic competition, FIBA games, the World Cup I think are great safety valves to stave off aggression and prevent wars

There was a movie before that conflicts were resolved in non bloody competition and games

Sophisticated expensive air defense system can be outfoxed and overwhelmed

The expensive and sophisticated air defense system can be outfoxed  and confused by the enemy.  As in the case of Israel Iron dome vs Hamas 5,000 missile attack.   And the cost benefit comparison is unbalanced.  The Hamas spends only so little on their home made crude missile.  But the air defense system cost?  And Uncle Sam shouldered part of the cost with the military aid to Israel.

In the recent attack, we do not actually know how many of the missile launched by Iran vs Israel were successfully destroyed.    But US definitely with its battle group, and little help from UK and France saved the day for Israel.

Even the air defense of Russia at Ukraine is vulnerable    Failure of Russian air defense system failure

Are aircraft carriers becoming obsolete? Will they lose importance as projectors of power from far away?

Undoubtedly aircraft carriers carried the day for US in WW 2 in battle of Midway.  But that is almost a century ago.   Weapons and strategies have evolved.

An aircraft carrier despite its task force escorts can be vulnerable to hypersonic attacks.   China has been actively developing such missiles and its a mismatch.   An aircraft carrier is worth $13 billion.  And the manpower of the aircraft carrier too:  5,000 strong
